FAQ

How do I fundraise online?

Register and create a personal fundraising page, then share it on your social networking pages and email – just use the links on your fundraising page! Watch this video to learn how!

What should my fundraising goal be?

It’ll be easier to reach than you might think! Download "How to Raise $500 in 10 days."

How will my sponsor donations be used?

All funds raised at the Walk for Life benefit the work of PWC to value life and transform lives in the Kansas City area. Direct sponsors to pwc4life.us to learn more, or use the information on your pledge sheet. Be sure to let your sponsors know their donation is tax-deductible.

Download a paper pledge sheet here. Obtain your first pledge from a generous donor, often other donors will match that amount.

Who should I ask to sponsor me?

Click here for ideas – We bet you know more people than you think! Don’t forget to ask family and friends who live out of town! Using your social media can also be a powerful tool – take a peek at our Resources page for ready-to-go social posts and easy-to-share videos! If you prefer paper, download a paper pledge sheet here. Obtain your first pledge from a generous donor, often other donors will match that amount.

How much does it cost to participate in the Walk & 5k Fun Run?

There is no cost/fee for the event. However since this one of the primary ways PWC raises funds to support our mission, we encourage people to participate by raising funds or sponsoring themselves.

Is this an official 5K? How will I know my time?

This is not an official 5K – we have done our best with the course and keeping an accurate measurement of distance, but the course is not official. The 5K will be a self-timed event. No medals will be awarded, but prizes (including t-shirts) will be given to fundraising walkers/runners based on their individual fundraising. The 5K Fun Run will begin at 9 am on Saturday, August 27th. The event is held at English Landing Park. The event site is in the middle of English Landing Park, next to the fountain. There are numerous parking lots surrounding the area.

Can I bring my dog to the Walk for Life?

This event is welcome to dogs. We ask that you abide by city park regulations (dogs on leash, picking up after them). Due to the size of the event, we also ask that you use your discretion and bring only friendly dogs that behave well around large groups of people.

Is there a fee for the Kid’s Race? What ages can participate?

There is no fee for the Kid’s Fun Run. This run is open for children 10 and under. The Kid Run Run will start at 9:30 am.

Visit the Kid’s Race table or find one of the roaming Waiver Volunteers with the green clipboards to sign the waiver.

I’m volunteering, where do I go that morning?

Check in at the Volunteer Check-In Tent and you’ll be signed in, given your name badge and directed where to go. We encourage you to allow yourself a little extra time for parking and check in. Thank you for choosing to serve with us at this event!

How do I get this year’s cool Walk t-shirt?

Each individual who raises at least $150 will earn this year’s shirt! Other PWC t-shirts may be made available for $10 at the Prize Tent.

How much do Kid’s Zone activities cost?

All activities are free of charge. We urge you to accompany your little ones for their safety.

How do I turn in my fundraising?

As you arrive at English Landing Park, please be sure to check in at the Check-In tables when you arrive so that your pledge sheets can be processed and your prizes can be awarded!

We will have a print-out of all funds raised online as of noon on Friday, so you will not need to print out your online fundraising page. Be sure to arrive early so you can get checked in with plenty of time before the Walk and 5K begins. Remember to bring all cash and checks you’ve collected with you.

If you choose to walk on your own, all pledge sheets, checks and other materials may be dropped off during business hours or mailed to the PWC office at 6326 N Lucerne Ave
Kansas City, MO 64151. If you have any questions at all, please reach out Carla at ckillen@parkvillewomensclinic.com

I can’t Walk or Run that day can I still participate?

Yes! You can still raise funds and walk in your own neighborhood at any time. You can mail or drop off any pledge forms/payments at 6326 N Lucerne Ave
Kansas City, MO 64151.

What if it’s raining the day of Walk+Run?
